CREATE will notify successful applicants by phone in January and February.

If I receive a grant, can I have my carer join me?

CREATE has limited funds and only a small number of young people from each state are able to attend. Therefore, we request that for those young people under 18 years requiring a carer/worker to accompany them that the worker/carer seek other sources of funding to enable them to accompany the young person.

If I don't receive a conference grant can I still attend the conference?

Yes, you can still attend the conference at the rates on the registration page. If you are unable to register online please contact us for further assistance.

Yes, any young person with a care experience between 14 and 25 years old can apply for a grant to attend the conference.

Please note, you must have completed all 3 levels of CREATE’s Speak Up program, or be booked in to complete prior to the conference taking place, to be eligible for a grant.

I have not completed level 3 of CREATE’s Speak Up Program, can I still apply for a grant?

If you are aged 14-25 you must have completed all 3 levels of CREATE’s Speak Up program, or be booked in to complete prior to the conference taking place, to be eligible for a grant.

If you are 12 and 13 you do not have to have completed this as the program is only eligible for young persons aged 14 and above.

Grants – General

Can I bring my child?

Absolutely! We have had young people bring their children previously and it’s lovely to see the littles ones. Please note that CREATE funding is for yourself only and we do not fund children to attend. You will be responsible for any costs of your child.

Can I bring my spouse?

Yes! If your spouse had care experience they are eligible to apply for a grant as well.

If you are travelling to attend the conference, regrettably if they do not have care experience they will need to organise travel at their cost.

If you have received a travel and accommodation grant spouses are able to share your accommodation and have this cost covered.

As each circumstance can be different CREATE Foundation will review these requests and requirements on a case by case basis to ensure we can assist in the most appropriate way possible. Please provide your request to the Conference Manager in writing to Conference@create.org.au. Your request will be reviewed and we will be in contact to ensure we can provide the most appropriate solution.

Regrettably transport outside of airfares are not included in travel and accommodation grants, and it is the responsibility of the recipient to make their way to and from the airport, accommodation and conference venue/s.

There are many transport options from public transport, taxi’s and car rentals. We recommend visiting the Adelaide Airport website and Adelaide Metro website to help plan your journey.

CREATE cannot alter a booking once the travel date and time has passed. If you have missed your flight you will need to work with the flight carrier to arrange new travel requirements at your own cost. You must also immediately notify the Conference Manager in writing to Conference@create.org.au so that we can notify the hotel of any delay.

If you are unable to make the provided travel bookings due to extenuating circumstances you must immediately notify you must notify the Conference Manager in writing to Conference@create.org.au, attaching evidence of the reason you cannot make the booking.

Subject to CREATE Foundation’s satisfaction CREATE Foundation will alter the travel booking for the next available time.

I received a travel and accommodation grant and extended my stay, however I can no longer attend in person. How do I get a refund?

If you have organised to extend your stay with the hotel you will be subject to the providers own cancellation and refund policy and will need to contact the provider directly as CREATE Foundation holds no responsibility or liability for self-made bookings.
