Since announcing the conference last year, we’ve heard from so many young people asking when grants would open — and the wait is almost over! If you’re passionate about sharing your ideas, insights and vision for a better future, we encourage you to apply.
Successful grant applicants may receive:
• A Travel and Accommodation Grant
• A Conference Registration Grant
• Or both!
Please note: Funding is limited, with only a small number of grants available in each state and territory.
Grants for the 2026 CREATE Conference Voices in Action: Our Voice. Our Future. are available to young people with a statutory care experience, aged between 10 and 25 years.
Young people under 18 years of age must be supervised by an adult during the conference. CREATE has limited funding and can only offer a small number of grants each year. Grants are prioritised for young people so that as many young people as possible can attend the conference.
If you are under 18 and need a carer or worker to attend with you, you can nominate this in your application. Wherever possible, we ask carers/workers to look for other funding options to support their attendance. CREATE understands that this isn’t always possible. In some cases, we may be able to offer a limited number of grants for carers/workers however, these are very limited and cannot be guaranteed. If a young person is successful but their nominated adult is not, the adult will need to cover their own costs to attend.
Please note, you must be a clubCREATE member to be eligible to apply. If you aren’t a member already, it’s very easy to join. Please follow this link and fill out the information clubCREATE new member form.
There are two types of grants available and, depending on where you live, you may be able to apply for both.
If you live in the Northern Territory, you must live at least 30 minutes from the Darwin Convention Centre to be eligible for a Travel and Accommodation grant. If you live within 30 minutes, you may be eligible for transfers to and from the venue, and you can still apply for a Conference Registration grant.

* Due to limited funding, some young people aged 18 and over may be asked to share a room. Room sharing will be with other young people of the same gender and similar age.
At this conference we will have over 200 young people with a care experience from around Australia discuss the care system’s BIG issues with carers, workers and care sector leaders AND come up with what needs to change to make things better. We can’t do this without your experience and knowledge!
