There are a large number of events happening in the sector this year around Australia. Come and say hello to the CREATE team at these conferences this year.
Child Aware Conference
When: 15 – 16 May 2017
Theme: Driving national action on child safety and wellbeing
Hosted by: Families Australia
The two day national conference, Child Aware Approaches: Driving national action on child safety and wellbeing, aims to advance the goals of the National Framework for Protecting Australia’s Children 2009 – 2020, the National Plan to Reduce Violence against Women and their Children 2010 – 2022, and advance the wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We will do this by encouraging thought leaders to stimulate discussion on how to make Australia an even better place for children and young people.

SNAICC National Conference
Where: National Convention Centre Canberra
Theme: Bring them home: securing the rights of our children
Hosted by: SNAICC
The SNAICC conference gathering coincides with the 20-year anniversary of the seminal Bringing Them Home report, which exposed the violations of fundamental human rights of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, families and communities through the policies and practices of the Stolen Generations. The SNAICC Conference will be centred on this anniversary to raise awareness and discussion of ongoing child removal, its causes and consequences for children, families and communities.
