The Voices in Action: empowering young people for positive change Conference 2017 is proudly hosted by the CREATE Foundation, having previously hosted our 2015 Conference, Youth for Change: creating a better future.

Held at the International Convention Centre Sydney from 10 – 12 August 2017, Voices in Action is open to all children and young people with a care experience across Australia. The Conference is open and appealed to carers, government officials and those working in the sector.

Registration FAQ’s

  • Registration Confirmation
    Your completed registration and successful payment will be automatically acknowledged via email with a tax invoice and receipt attached. If your email does not come through to your inbox, please check your junk mail settings. Your registration will only be confirmed upon full payment of fees.

    Name Badge
    Each member of the Conference will receive a name badge upon registration. The badge will be your official pass and must be clearly visible at all times to obtain entry to all sessions and to social functions. The Conference Managers expect appropriate behavior from attendees and reserve the right to revoke the badge and privileges of anyone behaving in an inappropriate manner.

    Certificate of Attendance
    A certificate of attendance will be issued via email after the completion of the conference to delegates who attended.

  • The group registration is available for groups of 5 individuals or more who are registering and/or booking accommodation. One invoice will be issued for payment.

    If names are not known at the time of registration, the group can still be registered and names can be provided at any time up to 30 days prior to the commencement of the Conference.

    The group registration form and payment must be received by the Conference Managers on or before 08 May 2017 to be eligible for the early registration fee otherwise the standard registration fees will apply.

  • Online Credit/Debit Card Payment
    Please note all online registrations require immediate payment by credit/debit card. Accepted credit/debit cards are MasterCard, Visa and American Express. All transactions by credit/debit card will appear on your statement as ‘Conference by Arinex’.

  • Cancellations must be notified in writing to the Conference Managers.

    Registration Fees:
    • Before or on 10 May 2017 will incur an A$150.00 cancellation fee.
    • Before or on 11 July 2017 will receive a 50% refund of fees paid.
    • After 11 July 2017 there will be no refund.
    • Special circumstances for Young People and carer delegates cancelling may be considered. Please contact to discuss.

    • One night’s deposit must be paid at time of booking to guarantee reservation.
    • One nights deposit is non-refundable at 11 July 2017.

    Social Program Fees:
    • Payments are non-refundable at 11 July 2017.


  • The program is correct at the time of publishing.  The organizers reserve the right to delete, modify or alter items from the program or to delete, modify or alter any aspect of the Conference timetabling and delivery at their sole discretion and without notice.  Neither the host organization nor the Conference Managers will accept any liability for any loss or inconvenience caused to any party consequent to such changes.


    CREATE Foundation will be taking photos and video of conference activities during the Voices in Action Conference, to be broadcast at the Conference as part of conference activities.  CREATE Foundation is well aware of and will abide by child protection legislation in each state and territory prohibiting the publication of images that publicly identify children and young people as in care.

    Please aware that non-identifying photographs of conference participants may be taken throughout the event to be used for CREATE promotional activities.


    Registration fees do not include insurance of any kind. It is strongly recommended that at the time you register for the Conference and book your travel you take out an insurance policy of your choice. The policy should include loss of fees/deposit through cancellation of your participation in the Conference, or through cancellation of the Conference, loss of international/domestic air fares through cancellation for any reason, loss of tour monies through cancellation for any reason including airline or related services strikes, failure to utilize tours or pre booked arrangements due to airline delay, Force Majeure or any other reason, medical expenses (including sickness and accident cover), loss or damage to personal property, additional expenses and repatriation should travel arrangements have to be altered. The Conference Managers cannot take any responsibility for any participant failing to arrange their own insurance. This insurance is to be purchased in your country of origin.
